Did you know that over 40% of the world cooks over an open fire?  In Haiti, which has been deforested because of the need for firewood, that number is much higher.

What you may not know is that the cost of the wood, charcoal, or gas used to cook beans can actually be more than the price of those beans.

Did you know that Split Beans take a fraction of the time to cook, and are a fraction of the price of whole beans?  

This saves our NGO partners money, and saves the poor on fuel costs to cook our beans.

Did you know that every pound of beans equals ten (10) portions of food?

... and that every 20 foot shipping container holds 51,800 lbs of product, which equals 518,000 portions of food? 

You would not have known, but before the pandemic (and the meteoric rise in ocean freight) we were on track to providing 5,180,000 portions of food per month to a total of 7 countries.

In 2020 & 2021 freight rates went up 1,000%.  While this extra cost eliminated our food distribution for those years, at the end of 2022 freight rates have finally shown signs of easing.

Did you know that exporting hundreds of thousands of pounds of food relief is easy for us, and can cost under 35 cents per pound on a delivered basis?
